Pledge to stand with boarding school victims

The story of the Indian boarding school policy of the United States government has largely been written out of the history books. Yet, this major federal policy continues to have negative mental, physical, and cultural impacts on Native American communities today.

The federal policy of stripping Native children of their language, culture, and customs should no longer be swept under the rug - pledge to stand with the victims of boarding schools and their families and communities as they work together towards healing.

Although organizations like the Native American Rights Fund have worked to bring justice to the victims of this policy and their communities, there has been little recognition or acceptance of responsibility by the government for the indisputable fact that its purpose was cultural genocide.

Acknowledgment and solidarity are crucial steps toward repairing from this tragic history. With this pledge, support all positive steps to reconcile and heal from the legacy of boarding schools.
The policies of cultural genocide perpetrated by Indian boarding schools deeply scarred Native American children - and the negative impacts of these schools continue to be felt across generations.

Join us in standing with the victims of government- and church-run boarding schools and their families and communities. We must all acknowledge this tragic history on the path towards healing.
