Anti-gay Republicans need to apologize to the LGBT Community, to all people who value life.

  • by: Michael Anderson
  • recipient: The Texas House of Representatives, Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, and Anti-gay Republicans

We the people petition the President to ask from Congress an apology from The Texas House of Representatives, and Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay for the division and separations they caused to families and friends of gays. It hurts.
An apology to the gay community from The Texas House of Representatives who were unsuccessful in a legislative bid to pass the Preservation of Sovereignty and Marriage Act, a measure that would bar “gay” couples from marrying, even if the Supreme Court ruled in June in favor of same-sex unions. Also an apology from Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay as he told Newsmax TV he is ready to fight the U.S. Supreme Court tooth and nail should it rule that same-sex marriages must be recognized nationwide — including staging acts of civil disobedience. Your actions have caused, and continue to cause division, separation, and a de-valuing of life between friends and families of gay people.
An apology to the Bible believers who DO value the life of all people. If you believe in the Bible, then this historic Biblical flooding in Texas has angered God. The de-valuing of human life demonstrated by political lawmakers in Texas angers me also. Noah’s arch was weather related. So was Jesus and his disciples when a storm came up when they were fishing. Do you believe in God, Jesus, and the Bible? Or not?
An apology to those people who don’t believe in a God. Your actions created unnecessary hate. Especially when your belief is in a God which makes mistake, creates imperfections, and then asks of people to be perfect or face eternal damnation to a place called hell. Then after a few thousand years, you say this God had a change of heart and sent a perfect Son to fulfill God’s need for perfection. This Son was to clean up mistakes which people call sin. This division and separations caused by the Texas House members of Representatives with anti-gay and bigoted intensions which include Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has infringed upon the civil liberties of all people’s lives. Hate is NOT an American or Christian value.
We the people, sign this petition directing the parties of both Republican and Democratic belief systems to get their act together and value human life.
