End Montana's Statute of Limitations, Jail Predators!

  • by: Karen Mondale

This issue concerns everyone, not just Montana or US residents. People, including predators, move, anywhere in the world. Please help my family as well as other people in the state of Montana in the US. The statute of limitations in Montana is not enough time for victims to come to grips about their abuses and prosecute offenders. If their incidences of trauma take them outside the short time allotted, they are out of luck. There is a particular pedophile who is suspected of not only being active, but has shown off his behavior! He even believes that adopted children should "work off" their adoption to new parents. He now has access to many young girls. He also now lives in a different state, but authorities cannot touch him only because of the Statute of Limitations in Montana. But if there's one pedophile or other predator, there's many getting away with their crimes in Montana or any other place they may have moved!
To: William W. Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana We, the undersigned, ask that the Statute of Limitations on prosecuting child molestation in Montana be removed. Particularly children who are molested experience a meriad of problems later on. Many years, decades, can go by before the victim is able to have the strength, in spite of being traumatized, to report abuse to the authorities. Known pedophiles from Montana move to other states and countries with different laws yet cannot be prosecuted for their early crimes. People living outside of Montana, as well as Montana's residents, want their children protected. Pedophiles can hide under deficiencies in the Law. Please remove the Statute of Limitations on prosecuting child molesters in Montana. Thank you for your time and attention for child victims.
