Simons - Ban Sale of Fur Products, Especially Those Made of Angora that Promotes Rabbit Abuse

Many retailers have felt the compassion for animals, banning the sale of fur products in their stores.  The fact is that most animals raised for their fur live in fur farms in total confinement.  Investigations have been implemented that allegedly witnessed rabbits who screamed in pain and terror as workers ripped the fur out of their skin, a barbaric ordeal that they endure every three months. Rabbits who are sheared have their feet tightly tethered, and they are suspended in the air or stretched across boards. The sharp cutting tools inevitably wound them as they struggle to escape. After several years, rabbits who survive this repeated abuse are hung upside down, and their throats are slit. Read more on these concerns and a store that supposedly promotes the abuse while continuing to sell fur products at http://www.peta.org/action/action-alerts/urge-fashion-retailer-simons-halt-fur-angora-sales/?utm_campaign=031816%20PETA%20E-News&utm_source=PETA%20E-Mail&utm_medium=E-News

Simons is a retailer that authorities believe is aware of such concerns and is in violation, promoting the abuse of these animals for their own profits. They continue to sell products that are made of angora wool and other fur products.  By selling such products, Simons is choosing to be involved in the alleged animal abuse of intelligent, gentle, defenseless animals like rabbits.  The effort in this petition is to encourage Simons to follow suit with other competitors and retailers like Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Anthropologie, Topshop, H & M, and Inditex and stop the sale of any fur products like angora.  You can help in this effort by signing and sharing this petition, speaking out with your own thoughts and comments in defense of these poor victims.

CEO Peter Simons of Simons Retailers – It is highly disturbing to learn that Simons sells clothing and other products made of fur and angora wool, with full knowledge of the abuse these animals endure to provide them those items for profits.  The attached article clearly states that “rabbits on angora farms scream in pain and terror as their fur is ripped out of their skin, a barbaric ordeal that they endure every three months. After several years, rabbits who survive this repeated abuse are hung upside down, and their throats are slit.     Animals farmed for fur are confined to cramped, filthy wire cages in which they have only enough room to take a few steps in any direction, and fur farmers use the cheapest killing methods available, including neck-breaking, suffocation, poisoning, and anal electrocution.”  It is unsettling that you would actually promoted such abuse by selling products gained in this manner. Please follow suit with other competitors and retailers like Le Château, Inditex, H&M, Mango, Zappos, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Talbots, and Topshop and ban all fur sales.  Stop the suffering of these animals by doing so or you will be losing many customers including all those petitioning you to take a crucial step in refusing to sell any and all fur products.
