Keep Your Hands Off The Constitution, Trump!

In an interview on 5/1, Donald Trump referred to having to get his ideas through Congress as both "archaic" and "bad for the country," even suggesting that he may have to change the system to avoid Congressional obstacles.

Between this and Trump's frequent attacks on the judicial branch, it's clear that Trump has no respect for the other branches of government - or the Constitution that intentionally set up this division of power.

Forcing the president to have to compromise with Congress is not "bad for the country" - it's a necessary check and balance to keep the commander-in-chief in line.

Meanwhile, the day before, Reince Priebus admitted the Trump administration had been looking into ways to get rid of/change the First Amendment so that the president could sue people who wrote unfavorable things about him. This would destroy the First Amendment as we know it.

Tell President Trump to keep his hands OFF the Constitution.

The 44 previous presidents all followed the same rules. The Constitution is not suddenly broken just because Trump's first 100 days in office has proven he's an ineffective leader.

Republicans are usually vocal champions of the Constitution - certainly Trump was not shy about tweeting at Obama when he thought he was doing something unconstitutional - yet they are stunningly silent when it comes to Trump's blatant disregard for the same document.

It's time for Americans of all political affiliations to loudly declare that Trump has no right to try to subvert the rules of governing. We either protect our Constitution or we're vulernable to losing it.
