Stand with Ana: Urge your Elected Officials to support public charter schools!

Public charter schools are putting 100,000 NYC kids on the Path to Possible, but thousands of other families are still waiting for access to great schools. Charter schools must be free to double in size to serve 200,000 kids, providing a high-quality education to every child who needs one.

Take it from Ana Hernandez, a public charter school parent in the Bronx:

"My name is Ana Hernandez, and I know firsthand the injustices that exist in the NYC education system. As a child, I did not speak English very well. My parents did the best they could, but the district schools I attended failed me, and I fell further and further behind.

When I became a mother, I was determined to find a school where my daughter, Alexandra, would not be forgotten.

Fortunately, Alexandra won the lottery for an amazing charter school. Today she is excelling at Girls Prep Bronx Middle School. After her first day of kindergarten, Alexandra came home and told me that she is in the college class of 2026. Public charter schools - like Girls Prep - are closing the achievement gap and providing all children an excellent education, no matter what their zip code."

Across NYC, high-performing charters are proving what's possible for children. Add your name to urge New York officials to let public charter schools work.
