Ontario: Just Days Left to Challenge Your Candidate to "Go Healthy"

  • by: Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • recipient: Party Leaders - Andrea Horwath, Ontario New Democrats; Tim Hudak, Ontario Progressive Conservative Party; Dalton McGuinty, Ontario Liberal Party; Mike Schreiner, Green Party of Ontario
URGENT: Just days until the election! Ontarians want to know where their candidates stand on the issues that matter to them, like health. In fact, Ipsos Reid found that 85% of Ontarians would support investing more to promote and support better health. That's why we're calling on all party leaders and their respective candidates to "go healthy" this election by committing to invest more to promote and support better health in Ontario.

Health care already costs almost 50 cents of every dollar that Queen's Park spends. If we're not careful, that could accelerate to 80 cents by 2030. That's a bill we simply can't afford. Investing in better health can help prevent 80% of premature heart disease and stroke. That will save money and lives today and tomorrow.

This election will be a conversation about the future health of Ontario. So act now by sending a letter to the Party Leaders telling them how proud you'll be when they and all their candidates "go healthy!"
I've signed on to the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Healthy Candidates campaign because I believe that your party should invest more to promote and support better health in Ontario. That's why I am calling on you and all your candidates to "go healthy" this election.
