Tell world leaders - toilets save lives

We're sure at some point you've felt the immense relief of finally finding a loo when you've been out and about and desperate to go. Did you ever think that humble toilet could quite literally be saving your life though?

It seems incredible that in 2016 we live in a world where one in three people still don't have a proper toilet. And it's more than an embarrassment. A child dies every two minutes as a result.

In 2015, governments finally acknowledged that this couldn't go on when they signed up to Global Goal 6: to reach everyone everywhere with a toilet and safe water by 2030.

We have the promise, now we need the plan.

The last time international development targets on improving access to clean water and safe toilets were set it was toilets that dropped off the agenda, with progress falling way behind what was promised. It seems that governments don't really like talking about where people do their business. We can't let that happen again.

We want the UK Government to publish its plan on how it will support Global Goal 6 so that everyone has a life-saving loo by 2030. Please sign our petition to add your voice.

Dear Mr. Cameron,

In 2015, world leaders made a promise to reach everyone, everywhere with taps and toilets. Now these words need to be followed with action. I want the UK to lead the way by making a public plan to help reach this important and life-saving goal.
