Stop the Trafficking of Children at Major Sporting Events

Every year, approximately 100,000 children are forced into prostitution in the United States... and many are illegally "bused in" to locations hosting major sporting events like the Super Bowl.

In fact, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott called the Super Bowl "the single largest human trafficking incident in the United States."

Homeless children—desperate for food, shelter and comfort—are the biggest victims of this horrific industry. In fact, over 50% of all homeless girls become part of a prostitution network.

We need to make sure vulnerable, homeless children are protected from pimps and johns, and we can start with focusing on events that are a boon for the sex trafficking industry.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is making children's safety a priority before the Super Bowl in Glendale by launching an anti-human trafficking campaign as one of his first efforts in office.

If we take unified action before this year's game, we can weaken the grip of this vile industry across the country.

Ask the Attorneys General to stand with Mark Brnovich in protecting our kids from sex trafficking.
Dear [Attorneys General],

Major sporting events are a haven for sex trafficking—that's why I hope you will help protect vulnerable kids in the days leading up to this year's Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is already making children's safety a priority by launching an anti-human trafficking campaign as one of his first efforts in office.

If we take unified action before the Super Bowl, we can weaken the trafficking market nationwide... and potentially save thousands of kids from sexual slavery.

I urge you to stand with Attorney General Brnovich by taking the following steps in your home state, especially while hosting a major sporting event:

* Training law enforcement officers and civilians like cab drivers and hotel clerks to recognize child traffickers
* Monitoring online sex ads
* Enacting harsher punishments for pimps and johns
* Reducing punishments for minors who have been involved in sex trafficking
* Funding programs to help homeless youth, including counseling and support
* Giving victims the resources they need to leave the streets safely and permanently

Arizona now joins Louisiana, Indiana and New Jersey in leading human trafficking crackdowns during the Super Bowl.

I know you agree that we must protect America's homeless children and show them they are worthy of love, respect and safety.

Sincerely,
