George Curry has been the football coach in Berwick for decades. He has built possibly the most recognizable organization in this town. He is one of the most famous coaches in the sate and the nation at the high school level of football. He is a legend in the sport. However, that is not why I'm calling on you to support this man.
George Curry is more than just a football coach. He is a role model in every sense of the word. He has done more to get kids into college and off of the streets of Berwick than any other individual in this community for the past fifty years. He has dedicated his life to helping the young men of this town become strong individuals capable of leading their own families and communities in the future. There is evidence of this amongst the countless framed photos of former players turned collegiate student athletes in his office. To think that someone like this is being pushed out is unthinkable. It is wrong.
The accusations being made against this man as part of the attempt to remove him from his position as head football coach are baseless and potentially slanderous. The opposition to this man is rooted in nothing more than jealously and personal vendettas. In a place with so much going wrong, it is time that we as a community come together and support a man who is doing everything right for this town. Please, support George (coach) Curry.
