Allow HCS Middle School Students to carry cell phone

Currently, Hampton City Schools (HCS) do NOT allow middle school students to carry a cell phone to school, even if they keep it off and in their locker.  By signing this petition, you are showing your support for changing the policy to allow our middle school students to carry cell phones so that they are available to them before and after school hours.   Our middle school students ride buses, walk & ride bikes to/from school, go to high schools after school for JV sports, and attend after-school clubs & events.  Pay phones are no longer available in the community.  Cell phones are a vital communication tool for parents & students.  Plus, they can improve the safety of our kids in case of emergency.
