Allow equestrians the right to safely use the Korung National Park with the use of a designated bridle path.

Every horse rider who loves the West Australian bush and exploring the beauty of the Perth Hills should get behind this petition.
Located around the town sites of Karragullen and Pickering Brook, Korung National Park is a popular spot for bushwalking and mountain biking. The Munda Biddi Bike Trail runs through parts of this park, and there are several designated walk trails.

We as recreational horse riders ask that we are granted special permissions to use designated bridle paths within the Park just like other recreation users such as bike riders and bush walkers have been.

Horses and their riders are passionate about nature and being in the bush is a great part of owning and riding a horse. We believe we should have better access to local parks and this includes Korung.

As it stands Korung is used by many equestrians however the rules regarding where we can and can't be is often a very grey area.
We want to be able to sit down with DPAW and local government bodies who can assist with the creation of a safe bridle path within the park.

The designated bridle paths will promote a better sense of responsibility and pride for the park on equestrians behalf. We will not only have a safer riding trail that has been thoughtfully considered to steer clear of special areas such as water catchment, rare and or endangered flora and fauna and high risk sections such as dangerous cliffs, die back prone areas and busy roads or alike.
A designated bridle path will mean less off limits exploration by those who are not familiar with the area and less horse and vehicle interaction from having to use gazetted roads and tracks within the park.
Local businesses which support and allow horses to use their facilities will benefit from the extra patronage in the areas in and out of the Forrest including but not limited to;
- Due Jolly Winery
- Core Cider House
- Myattsfield Winery
- Hidden Valley Day Spa and Eco Lodges
- Legends Lodge Agistment
- HopsScotch Micro Brewery
- Paddys Bush Bar and Grill
- Bickley Valley Horse Tours
- Halcyon Stables and Riding School
