I always knew junk food is bad for you, but not this bad. If you let your kid eat Flaming Hot Cheetos, they might just end up in the ER.
“But now doctors say there's another reason spicy junk food should be avoided: It can result in a trip to the emergency room. Emergency room doctors said they were seeing kids...coming into the ER with gastritis, an inflamed stomach lining, or other stomach ailments after eating bags of spicy snack foods.”
Reports are that hospitals are seeing dozens of kids a day in the ER due to stomach ailments - something unheard of only a decade ago. How many children are ruining their stomachs for life, because of unhealthy, unnatural junk food being told at convenience stores, schools, and supermarkets all across America?
Even worse. The “food” they are being sold is addicting
On top of the artificial coloring and flavoring, some experts say the Cheetos are “hyperpalatable,” meaning they’re highly addictive.
“Our brain is really hardwired to find things like fat and salt really rewarding and now we have foods that have them in such high levels that it can trigger an addictive process,” said Ashley Gearhardt, a clinical psychologist at the University of Michigan.
Enough is enough. Sign our petition and tell Frito Lay to stop selling dangerous, addictive products like Flaming Hot Cheetos to our children.
Dear Frito Lay Board of Directors,
The reports that your products, including Flaming Hot Cheetos, are causing children to go to the ER are worrisome. Even more so is the fact that they are incredibly addictive. Please remove this product from sale in grocery stores, schools, and any place that children can easily buy them and take steps to provide healthy, natural foods for consumption.
