Prince William, create a Museum of Ivory and Awareness against poaching

  • recipient: Prince William

Poaching and the use of animals to make ornaments is something that should end. But destroy History is not the way to stop this cruelty.

A museum of the ivory and awareness against poaching would be the best end of all those ivory objects. The museum would preserve History and at the same time create awareness of the cruelty against wild animals in name of vanity. The funds raised by this museum should be used in campaigns against poaching and preservations of Wild animals.

Your Royal Highness,

Your position against poaching and the use of Ivory is very much appreciated, but I would like to argue that the destruction of pieces of Art and History is not the best option.

History should not be destroyed but used to bring awareness. To empty the Palace of ivory objects is a great idea, but those objects should not be destroyed.

The British Royal Palaces have lots of objects made of this material that is the result of cruelty to wild animals. Destroying History will not change anything, and the gesture would soon be forgotten.

I would like to propose, as an alternative, the creation of a Museum of Ivory and Awareness against Poaching. The museum could collect Art objects made of ivory and also show images of poaching, to create awareness of its cruelty and waste. The objective of the museum could be the collection of Art made of Ivory, the History behind it, raising awareness of poaching and the use of objects made from wild animals.

The Museum theme could be even broader than Ivory, and include use any kind of material coming from wild animals. Fur and taxidermy could also be part of the collection. Any revenue from the Museum could be put towards funding campaigns against poaching.

I hope that you will look favourably upon this suggestion, and would be more than willing to help with further ideas with a view to establishing the museum. Please do not hesitate to contact me if this is the case.

I have the honour to remain, Sir, Your Royal Highness's most humble and obedient servant,

[your name]
Thanks very much
