All of the designers listed above use Pony Skin or Pony Hair in their products -- women's handbags, rugs, etc. Esty and Ebay carry advertisements for products made of Pony Skin/Hair.

Nurse mare foals and PMU foals died once, these designers and promoters of pony skin accessories and rugs are killing them again. “Pony skins, pony hair” comes from the skin of a slaughtered nurse mare foal or PMU foal. These foals are considered to be expendable. Nurse Mare foals, often referred to as the horse racing industry’s dirty little secret, are ripped from their mothers at birth, frequently bludgeoned to death or left to starve. Their mares are used as nurse mares to more “expensive foals”, mainly thoroughbreds. Some go to slaughter. And that is where the “pony skins” come from. 99% of the designers and promoters listed above use pony skins in their products, 1% use “pony hair” alone.  They are making a profit off of the horrific deaths of these foals. Have you ever seen a cute little foal? Well, you may be wearing one .Chickchester carries a variety of horse and pony hides, but justifies promoting them because “horses are not an endangered species.”

“Pony skin is an element of fashion and design that most people either love or hate.  I, for one, love the way it looks!  Pony skin isn’t just limited to ranch-inspired style.  It can make a stunning impact with either a dramatic pattern or a more subtle, sophisticated look.”  bSpoke, Author:  Amy Hirsch

No, Pony skin is the symbol of slaughter and of the ignorance of those who buy products made from the skins of innocent foals.

Your exploitation of nurse mare foal skins as "pony skin" must stop. Nurse mare foals who are not rescued are brutally killed at birthh or sent to slaughter to be horrifically murdered. The skins of the nurse mare foals used as "pony skins" for the production of various products simply ensures the continuation of their slaughter. Please stand with us against the use of "pony skin." Stop using nurse mare foal skins in your designs and stop promoting "pony skin" products.
