If You Like "Beauty", Don't Touch Our National Monuments, Trump

Last week, President Donald Trump defended Confederate statues, calling them beautiful and insisting they had cultural and historical value. This week, the Interior Department is expected to recommend either the shrinking or declassification of up to 21 national monuments.

Does the president really only think monuments with racist undertones are important? Are America's natural wonders not beautiful, too? Do they not have cultural and historical value worth protecting?

If this administration is going to throw its support behind Confederate monuments, it sure as hell better not try to come for other protected lands. Unless they want to make it obvious that Trump was pandering to a white nationalist base, we call on Trump and Zinke to leave all exist national monuments intact and preserved.
