Protesting the "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" video game

Protesting the religious intolerance and hatred spread in the form of the "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" videogame, which is geared to children. I ask everyone who finds this game offensive to sign my petition.

As an atheist and believer in religious freedom I am deeply disturbed by the game "Left Behind: Eternal Forces."  This petition is based on a letter written by the Campaign to Defend the Constitution (with which I am in no way affiliated) (available: http://ga3.org/campaign/tell_wal_mart) to ask Wal-Mart to stop carrying this divisive video game. I altered it and sent it to Best Buy and EB Games, and then realized it would be more effective if I sent a letter directly to the manufacture.

I want everyone who is disturbed by the hatred spread in this game to sign this protest. If you have a moment, please click the above link to ask Wal-Mart to stop carrying the game. Also, stores such as EB Games and Best Buy have a Contact Us feature where you can register your protest.

The body of the letter to send to vendors:  (be sure to change the store name)

"I am deeply concerned with [store]'s decision to sell the "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" video game, filled with religious violence, to our children this Christmas.
The game is based on an extreme ideology, and promotes the conversion or even killing of those who do not adhere to a specific interpretation of Christianity - including Muslims, Catholics, and Jews.

"Left Behind: Eternal Forces" takes place in New York City, shortly after the rapture. Gamers are charged with creating Christian militias who roam the streets of New York City, looking to convert non-believers and killing those who they are unable to draw to their side. In fact, after particularly bloody battles, players must use prayer to recharge their "soul points" that have been diminished by the killing.

This divisive game has no place on your store's shelves - especially this holiday season."

I contacted the manufacture, Left Behind Games, at this address:
http://www.leftbehindgames.com/pages/contact_us.htm. I hereby allow anyone to copy the following letter to send it the game manufacturer.

The body of my letter:

"I am deeply concerned with the "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" video game, which is filled with violence. It is incredibly disturbing that such violence is couched in religious sentiment. The game is based on an extreme ideology, and promotes the conversion or even killing of those who do not adhere to a specific interpretation of Christianity - including Muslims, Catholics, and Jews. Enough people are rendered dumb and violent because of fervent religious beliefs; there is no need to actively produce material which furthers such hatred and discrimination.

The storyline of "Left Behind: Eternal Forces", including the creation Christian militias who roam the streets looking to convert non-believers and killing those who they are unable to draw to their side, is incredibly repugnant. That players must use prayer to recharge their "soul points" that have been diminished by the killing is particularly distasteful, and teaches that gratuitous prayer can bring redemption for heinous and gratuitous killing.

I am deeply disturbed that this "game" has been produced, like the books before it, as well as the “values” and message contained therein. This game is another example of unnecessarily divisiveness produced by scared and intolerant Christian bigots, and it deserves no place in my or my family’s world."
