The Supreme Federal Court of Brazil recently made the long-awaited right decision to ban the cruel rodeo event known as vaquejada, sparing bulls the unconscionable terror and torment of being chased around an arena, pinned between two horses, violently yanked by their tails (which are sometimes even torn off), and forced to the ground on their backs—often causing fatal injuries. However, this victory for bulls is now in jeopardy. A strong lobby is pushing for a change to Brazil's constitution in order to reinstate vaquejada under the guise of cultural heritage.
