Ted Cruz: Stop protecting Big Oil. Stand with Iowa farmers for a cleaner future.

Iowa corn farmers, and the ethanol they produce, are a crucial part of moving America towards a renewable energy future. But Senator Ted Cruz opposes the federal mandate to blend ethanol into gasoline, citing too much government involvement. But he doesn’t mind giving away $4.8 billion in federal subsidies to Big Oil.

Perhaps it’s not surprising that Cruz would support such generosity to the fossil fuel industry. After all, it has been more than generous to him. Cruz’s presidential campaign has already received nearly $500,000 from oil and gas industry PACs and individuals. And as a US Senator, he has received over $1.3 million from the oil and gas industry. In fact, Cruz personally “holds up to $850,000 worth of stock in six oil- and gas-related companies”.

If Ted Cruz has his way, he will protect his generous friends at Big Oil and hang Iowa’s farmers out to dry, along with America’s renewable energy future. Senator Cruz: Stop protecting your Big Oil friends and stand with Iowa farmers for a cleaner, brighter future.

Sen. Cruz:

We call on you to stand with Iowa's farmers by supporting the federal mandate to blend ethanol into gasoline for a cleaner, brighter future for America.

Yours sincerely,
