There is concern that the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act of 2016 known as S. 659 will provide provisions to the Senate that would threaten imperiled wildlife and their habitats.  You can read more on this issue and concern at https://secure.defenders.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=3066.

These new proposed provisions of S. 659 presents one of the worst piece of anti-wildlife legislation that would endanger the lives of bears, wolves and other iconic wildlife.  We need to act quickly in opposing this new bill and its provisions that threatens gray wolves in Wyoming and the Great Lakes Region from the Endangered Species Act along with opening the way for killing of many of these animals throughout wildlife refuges throughout Alaska.  Additionally, the Clean Water Act would be in danger from protecting the lakes, rivers and streams to keep them pesticide and pollution-free.

The effort in this petition is to encourage Congress to Oppose Bill S. 659 and the proposed provisions to the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act of 2016 that would endanger threaten imperiled wildlife and their habitats like wolves, bears and other iconic wildlife.  Such provisions would threaten our lands, waters and wildlife.  You can help in opposing this bill by signing and sharing this petition, adding your own thoughts and comments.

U. S. Congress – I have a strong concern and caring for the wildlife and our environment.  There are harmful provisions in the bill S. 659 that threatens much of our endangered wildlife like wolves, bears and more in addition to their habitats. Such provisions would also bypass current fundamental environmental laws and impair conservation efforts.  Read the attached information that highlights the devastating effects S. 659 would have on our lands, waters and wildlife.  Please ensure that you oppose S. 659 and reject all efforts to include its harmful provisions in other Senate legislation.
