Tens of thousands of people have been killed in Sudan's Darfur region. Over 220,000 have fled across the border to Chad. Millions more are homeless. Most are women and children, terrified while the fighting continues and security is deteriorating.
We must urge the international community to stand up for the people of Darfur to ensure their protection, to deliver much needed life-saving humanitarian assistance, and to restore peace and stability to the region.

The international community is the only hope for the people of Darfur and Sudan -- collectively, democratically; clearly the U.S., Russia, and China aren't serious about doing anything much together or on their own, so the will of the vast majority of the millions of fellow human beings on this planet must compel these 3 powers and the rest of the world to stop standing idly by ... while tens of tousands more are killed, raped, wounded, and tortured -- physically, emotionally, and psychologically.... Meanwhile the U.S. funnels BILLIONS of dollars into Iraq -- largely to line the pockets of oil companies, and, even more so, defense contractors.... No wonder the U.S. can't stand in any integrity and seriously ask the Chinese government to cease its oil dealings with the Sudanese government....
