In many states, the statute of limitation is being extended to 30 years beyond the abused child's age of 18.
This is a petition to all congregation members and leaders of the International Society for Krsna Conciousness to finally prosecute all child abusers by going to your local District Attorney's office with any proof or names of witnesses of any allegation(s) of child abuse in the last 30 years.
This ongoing travesty of human values which ruins entire lives is far, far more important than all other issues. When we see so called devotees who are too busy with their mantra, dancing and singing in joyful kirtans, while their children have been sent overseas or are playing unattended in the streets, in both cases to be preyed upon by predators, we can understand that these are not devotees; these are careless, selfish people who want to delight in some illusion of spirituality while their children are placed in danger. How Shameful!!! We need to stop child abuse and child neglect at all levels through the penal system. Please sign this petition to prosecute all child abuse in so ISKCON internationally.

Sometimes these children have such a difficult time with the abuse they have suffered; they do not want to deal with it the day they turn 18, block it out of their memory to escape the pain, want to get on with their life once they are away from the abuse.... Many reasons.... They do not want anyone thinking there is something wrong with them, may still believe what they were told by the predator that assaulted them when they were just a child.... List goes on.... If the crime took place, it should be punished whenever it is brought to light. Have seen the effects of how this can affect a person, well into their adults years. |
