Changing the euthanization law in Georgia from the gas chamber to leathal injection
In the sate of Georgia they use the gas chamber to euthanize animals in animal shelters. The gas chamber is a slow and painful death for animals and extremly inhumane way of putting animals down. My goal is to get 10000 signatures to send to our state capital in hopes to change this law. So please for the sake of the animals sign this petition.

All animals are sentient creatures, they are therefore capable of feeling pain and suffering when they are mistreated. To put them in gas chambers is incredibly cruel because it subjects them to a painful and traumatic death. These creatures are suffering because of the actions of mankind - people buying pets then discarding of them for whatever reason. It is only right that they are shown some compassion in their lives and given a lethal injection. So please change the animal euthanization lawas in Georgia and set a good example for other states and other parts of the world. Thank you.

I understand that euthanizing shelter animals is often a necessary evil, thanks in part to irresponsible owners and greedy backyard breeders. However, the euthanasia process doesn't have to be done in a cruel and frightening way either. There needs to be spay/neuter incentives in place, to encourage people to fix their animals, which would help start lowering the pet population, and euthanasia numbers. There needs to be a crackdown on backyard breeders/puppymillers that are contributing to our horrendous population problem. Lawmakers, commissioners, etc. all need to be at a shelter on "gas day", to see just what is involved in killing our shelter animals via gas, and THEN let them decide what is humane.

There is no need to kill healthy animals! This is barbaric to say the least, there is plenty of no kill shelters that are proving there is no need for this at all!
