AIG, are you enjoying our money?

$400,000 Retreat for AIG at Taxpayers' Expense

Target:
AIG Executives
Sponsored by:

American International Group Inc. (AIG) received $85 billion from the federal government to prevent them from going bankrupt. Where did this money go?

Days after the bailout, AIG spent $440,000 on a luxurious retreat for its executives--a retreat complete with spa treatments, banquets and golf outings.

In this time of economic crisis, many American taxpayers are struggling to afford the rising costs of food, healthcare, and housing. And yet, our taxes are being used to pay for spa treatments and golf outings for greedy corporate executives?

Tell AIG executives that we will not pay for their lifestyles of excess, when millions of Americans cannot afford basic necessities.

Demand that they pay back the treasury $440,000 to cover the cost of the retreat and that they work towards repaying American taxpayers the 85 billion dollars that kept them from going under.

Dear AIG executives,

Your company received $85 billion from the federal government to prevent you from going bankrupt. This money is paid for by hardworking taxpayers, and we do not like that you used some of this money on a luxurious retreat--complete with spa treatments, banquets, and golf outings.

American taxpayers are struggling to afford the rising costs of food, health care, and housing. We will not agree to pay for your lifestyle of excess when millions of Americans cannot afford basic necessities.

Please pay back the treasury $440,000 to cover the cost of the retreat and please work to pay back American taxpayers the $85 billion that kept you from going under.

Thank you for your time.

I'LL never forget the meek reactionary sen shelby from alabama 'umbly reminding jp morgan stanley execs that 29 billion was "a lot of money" when he agreed to the bear strearns bailout last march, and then voting against sen bill 1664 which would have provided relief to actual homeowners.likewise, the president's behavior on the subsequent general bailout of the whole shadow banking system pretty much resembled the guy who makes the ransom demands over the phone."if youse wanna see yore economy alive agin youse better stuff 700 billion into the sachs and leave 'em behind the applebees in shadowbrook center." the aig situation speaks for its self.those execs must be absolutely sure they have the system gamed perfectly to pull a stunt like the one described above.this forum does not provide space to describe how bailouts are handled in europe-check it out on the internet-rules,regs,oversight-all the stuff our corporate pirates treat like kryptonite-our bailouts are rather delicious-i don't see how the grocer keeps it on the shelf-so tell mom when she goes shopping to bring home a mess of that bail out."

Pay back my taxpayer dollars you greedy scum. How is this allowed? All these executives should have their picture posted on the 5 oclock news showing the public where their tax dollars are going to.

Taxpayers should not pay for AIG or any other fat cat's vacations. Give me justice. Give me freedom. Don't take away my freedom to spend my own hard earned money by taking it from me in the form of a tax to the big and getting-much-more-socialistic government. Do you think that you, policy makers know better how to spend my money? Who gave you the right to spend my money? Please don't be wasteful. Tighten your own belts.

First of all it is ridiculous to think these failing executives deserve any rewards, however it will be the ultimate disgrace for our leaders in Washington if they do not retrieve these funds. They must pay back this money immediately. We are as mad as hell and not going to take it any more!

I do not want to see my hard earned Tax Dollars, going to this form of Corporate Theft. I would also like to see these executives face criminal charges for defrauding the Govrnment. Sincerely, Joseph Bessolo

Every dime that went to AIG bailout needs to be reimbursed to the taxpayers! Please assign someone to watchdog this action!

Why is an insurance company being bailed out anyways. For the economy to be going through this crisis, and the middle class tax payer not even being able to go to local lake for a vacation, it's so incredibly repulsive that AIG would take tax payer money to go on a vacation. PAY BACK THE MONEY, ALL OF IT, YOU'VE PROVEN YOUR ABILITY TO HANDLE MONEY. insurance is one of the largest scams in america, and now, there is another prime example of the rich living off the backs of the struggling middle class who are being taxed to death
