This petition is to ask for a permanent reduction of the speed limit in front of BOTH Montgomery County rural high schools. The areas are both on US 231 and are traveled at a high rate of speed.  The areas have been accident zones due to driver error causing numerous accidents and fatalities. The areas are heavily patrolled by local law enforcement and a reduction of the speed limit would increase the ticket infraction costs and incorporating the drivers into a defensive driving program. Any speeding over 21 mph in a listed zone is considered reckless driving. Protect our citizens, children, educators, and patrolman from being the next victim due to driver error.
