Keep the Jameson Hospital Maternity Care open. How much more can we lose?

If Jameson Maternity Care closes there is a danger of loss of life and critical care if needed, for the new born baby.. Many doctors do not accept different insurances or are not taking on new patients at this time. The ER staff has not had the same training or experience that an OB Doctor/Nurse has to ensure the best possible outcome for both the baby and mom. The Jameson Maternity Care staff delivered 295 babies in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015, with only two doctors on staff. With Jameson Maternity Care Center closing, the nearest hospitals offering obstetrical services include UPMC Horizon in Farrell, 20 minutes away; Sharon Regional Health System, which is 26 minutes from Jameson; Heritage Valley Beaver, 33 minutes from Jameson & Butler Health System, 41 minutes away from Jameson. There are not enough ambulances to transport patients, how unrealistic for them to be delivering elsewhere. Would the medics in the ambulance be able to deliver the baby or (multiple births) if it comes to that. We as a community have to fight to keep it open as if one's life depends on it, because it does. Please get involved! Call the Attorney Generals office 1-215-560-2414.
