Tell Party Leaders to Support Better Health in Canada

Canadians want to know where their candidates stand on health issues that matter to them.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation believes that the way to reduce the cost of healthcare is to challenge the next government to invest more to promote and support better health in Canada. Committing to promote better health will save money and lives today and tomorrow.

With health care costs sky-rocketing, childhood obesity rates having tripled over 30 years and tobacco use remaining a leading cause of preventable death; the time for action is now. We know that up to 80% of premature heart disease and stroke is preventable. Working with elected MPs, together we can ensure that health remains a key priority as we work to address risk factors that impact heart disease and stroke, helping create a healthier country for all Canadians.

So act now by sending a letter to Party Leaders telling them how proud you'll be when they, and all their candidates "go healthy"!

I've signed on to the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Healthy Candidates campaign because I believe that your party should do more to promote and support better health in Canada. That's why I am calling on you and all candidates to "go healthy" this election.
