Petition To Name A Vermont Mountain As Brokeback Mountain
The name "Brokeback Mountain" carries significant meaning for millions of people around the world and for many thousands of people in Vermont.
We wish to name one of our Mountains in Vermont as "Brokeback Mountain" as an eternal tribute to a former Vermont Author and her movie which changed the lives of millions of people for the better.

In keeping with the Vermont reputation of being a free-thinking and open-minded State, We, the people of the State Of Vermont, and other interested parties, request that the Vermont Board of Libraries, which is authorized by Vermont Statutes, specifically Vermont 10 V.S.A. § 152, to effect the legal naming of a Mountain, name a Mountain, of which the identity and location will be disclosed, as "Brokeback Mountain".
