Tell Senator Ted Cruz: We've Had Enough Of Your Hateful Rhetoric
As couples across the country celebrate more victories for marriage equality, Senator Ted Cruz has his feet firmly planted in the past: He wants to strip marriage rights from legally wed same-sex couples and introduce a constitutional amendment to block marriage equality.
But we’re not going to let him get away with it.

Dear Senator Cruz,
I am writing to express my outrage and dismay at your offensive comments regarding marriage equality this week.
Your federal legislation to deny federal recognition to legally married, committed and loving gay and lesbian couples is harmful, discriminatory, and incredibly out of touch with our country's values. Even more appalling is your announcement that you will seek to amend the U.S. Constitution to enshrine discrimination in our core legal framework.
But our nation is still divided into two Americas. Too many same-sex couples experience legal, financial and emotional hardships solely because they cannot marry the person they love. It is for exactly this reason that I stand with the Human Rights Campaign in support of creating one America for LGBT people, united under a single banner of fairness.
