Citizens for Campaign Reform

In the past few years many politicians have said that they were for campaign reform. They will say, "I am for campaign reform, BUT...", the key word is "BUT". When they are actually forced to address the issue, or vote on the issue, they balk and no reform is made!

I received that same sort of response from one of our Congressmen from Oklahoma. I sent a letter to Congressman Steve Largent stating that I felt that having campaign reform was very important so as to have confidence in our government leaders. I told him that I had a lot of respect for Senator John McCain from Arizona. That I was proud of how that he had took a stand for campaign reform. In his letter of response Mr. Largent stated that he too was for campaign reform, but that the bill Mr. McCain had helped author had some serious flaws in it that he could not agree with.

I only use Mr. Largent as an example of how our politicians treat, and think of the subject of campaign reform.

So as Americans, if we wish to change their attitudes towards campaign reform, we have to unite in a single voice to tell them, Mr. Politician, we do not want you in someones hip pocket, to be pulled out when they have a need or desire you to do their bidding.

This petition is only to let our leaders know that Americans are ready for campaign reform. Mr. politician, GET ON THE BAND WAGON FOR CAMPAIGN REFORM.
