For the past 90 years, America's national parks have provided critical animal habitat, opportunities for outdoor education, and recreation for park visitors. Now the parks are in a state of crisis!
Underfunding, traffic congestion, and pollution are all taking their toll. Today, many of America's treasured national parks face problems like:
- A severe maintenance backlog. Parks need urgent repairs to visitor centers, roads, and trails.
- Ranger shortages threaten the visitor experience and safety at parks.
- An annual budget shortfall of more than $800 million.
- Air pollution that harms one in three park units in the National Park System.
NPCA has outlined how to address these problems in 5 Ways America Can Fix Our National Parks. By following this plan, our parks will be in great shape before the National Park System's 100th birthday in ten years. National parks are in desperate need of funding, protections, and attention. But with your help, we can fix them.
TELL CONGRESS TO SUPPORT THE PLAN THAT WILL FIX OUR NATIONAL PARK SYSTEM!
We signed the “America's National Parks Face a Crisis - Support the Plan to Fix Them” petition!

National Parks whether they be in Australia, America or any other region of the planet earth, are critical to the survival of many threatened species, as well as vegetation communities and ecosystems, all governments should acknowledge their responsibilities to conserve, maintain and expand all National Parks and Conservation reserves within their territories. For the long term survival of our species and our overall well being.

National Parks are a great resource for us and the children of the future. Memories of family outings and the wonderful trees and animals are something that will be rare in the future if we stop protecting the parks that John Muir worked so hard to protect.

I think a country's government doesn't only have a responsibility for its human citizens but also for all other species of animals and plants that live within its borders - for there's no one else in the world who could be responsible for them, they are part of YOUR country, and it will be your country's loss if you fail to properly protect and take care of them. The national parks are one of the most essential resorts there is for precious nature and wildlife, for this reason their maintenance has to be a priority!
