On November 13, 2015, the world watched as religious extremists brutally murdered 127 innocent civilians and injured many more. We watched as these savages coordinated their attacks in order to inflict the most mayhem possible. I cannot imagine the fear and helplessness that was going through the minds of the victims as they were being senselessly slaughtered.
It is time for the people of this country to wake up and realize that we cannot wish this problem away. ISIS has already warned the US that it has over 70 operatives in 15 states across the country, Given the level of sophistication and coordination that we saw in Paris; I'd say it would be wise to understand that they are not bluffing.
Maryland is one of the states that ISIS has warned is a target for an attack. Its close proximity to DC and the large concentration of military bases, NSA, and other defense contractors in this region, make Maryland a very vulnerable target of opportunity.
I am starting this petition to urge Maryland Governor Larry Hogan to allow the law abiding citizens of this state to carry concealed firearms within the state of Maryland. It is a well known fact that these terrorist organizations prefer to hit soft targets, like civilian populations. Their goal is to inflict as much death and destruction as possible before they are met with any resistance. I do not want to see innocent Americans in Maryland die helplessly because they are not legally able to properly defend themselves from violent extremists. I know that there are tens of thousands of citizens in Maryland that are willing to stand up for the freedom of this country; who will not bow to the demands of radicals.
