Pledge to Help Stray Animals

If you're an animal lover, you know how heartbreaking it can be to see a stray companion animal wandering the streets alone. Stray animals can fall prey to cars, predators and other dangers -- but there are ways you can help.

By keeping a few common items in your car, you can help a stray animal get home safely.

- a phone with phone number of the local animal control, a shelter and a 24-hour emergency veterinary clinic;
- a cat carrier or cardboard box;
- a heavy blanket;
- a water bowl and water;
- strong smelling foods, like dried liver or canned tuna (and a way to open it); and
- an animal first aid kit.

Storing these items can be life saving. Wouldn't you want someone to do the same for your pet? Pledge to prepare to help stray animals.
