Secure the Endangered Snow Leopard's Habitat Now!

The effort to save the endangered snow leopard is entering a critical phase! This endangered big cat needs enough suitable habitats to survive, and an upcoming international conference could go a long way towards securing them.

This June, the 12 Central Asian countries that are home to the snow leopard will meet in Kyrgyzstan with the goal of identifying at least 20 landscapes that are to be protected as snow leopard habitat — the cornerstone of the Global Snow Leopard Ecosystem Protection Plan, a landmark conservation agreement the countries adopted last year in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek.

The Kyrgyz government's leadership has created critical momentum for snow leopards. Now is the time to take action for these cats.

Please join thousands of wildlife supporters from all over the world in encouraging the experts and officials who will gather in Kyrgyzstan to move swiftly and achieve tangible progress for the snow leopard now!
Dear representatives of snow leopard range countries, international organizations, and participants

Subject: You hold the future of the snow leopard in your hands.

The Bishkek Declaration on the Conservation of the Snow Leopard and the Global Snow Leopard Ecosystem Protection Plan were huge steps towards securing the future of this magnificent cat, and I thank and congratulate you and your governments and organizations for taking these steps together.

Now, it's essential that the range countries and the international community carry the momentum that was created in Bishkek forward.

Please use this workshop in Issyk-Kul to come to an agreement on at least 20 snow leopard landscapes to be secured now. I'm looking forward to good news on the progress you'll make in the coming days.
