Please help save the life of animals in the zoo at Mysore city, in south India where three animals (including two elephants) have died in just one week and foul play is suspected. Unless the animal lovers demand immediate action to bring the culprits to book and save the life of animals more such deaths are very likely to occur because in the past also the zoo is known for mysterious death of zoo animals and the action taken by the government has not been effective in stopping the apparent killing of animals at the zoo at Mysore due to obvious foul play.

ANIMALS AT MYSORE ZOO IN SOUTH INDIA
Three animals have died in just one week at the zoo, in Mysore city in Karnataka state in south India. The deaths started with a lion tailed macaque (2nd September, 2004) followed by two adult elephants named Ganesh ( 4th September 2004) and Roopa ( 7th September, 2004 ). All the animals have died under mysterious circumstances.
Death of animals at Mysore zoo is not a new phenomenon. Death due to apparent foul play is common in the zoo and the animal lovers and public suspect that some disgruntled employees of the zoo like animal keepers are behind such macabre and dastardly deeds. Apparently there are some vested interests that are pulling the strings here, stage managing the deaths of the animals and the complicity of some of the animal keepers is glaringly obvious.
In the not too distant past the hand of one female chimpanzee was deliberately crushed, and the animal died an agonizing death. Prior to that a tiger was let loose in an enclosure where a worker was cleaning the area and the tiger was shot dead by the police to save the life of the employee. The death of a few black bucks was reported about a year and half ago. And all the deaths were under mysterious circumstances and one wonders if there is a pervert serial killer among the zoo staffers?
In the past no effective measures have been taken by the zoo administration and the government, because if they had, that would have put an end to such cynical and sadistic killing of helpless animals in their charge and custody. Now also the investigations have started both by the zoo authorities and the police but if the past is any indication, the measures are ineffective and inadequate.
The zoos in India come under the zoo authority of India and the Ministry of forests and environment of the Government of India and the state governments where the zoos are located administer the zoos which in turn are under the state Ministry of Forest. Since the enquires by the state has failed to stop this macabre serial killing of animals apparently with an agenda of a conspiracy and human greed, there is need for a thorough enquiry by the state police to identify the culprits behind this dance of death. If the mysterious deaths continue, in future also the next option would be an enquiry by the federal investigating agency called the CBI ( Central Bureau of Investigation) which can unearth the facts and bring the culprits to book.
The helpless animals which are dying with alarming regularity need the help of the animal lovers all over the world. Immediate appeals may kindly be sent to the Chief Minister of Karnataka and the Forest Minister of Karnataka ( Address: Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka Vidhana Soudha, Dr B.R.Ambedkar road, Bangalore 560 001 , Karnataka and Forest Minister , Government of Karnataka , Vidhana Soudha, Dr B.R.Ambedkar road, Bangalore 560 001 , Karnataka, India ). The highest forest officer who is responsible for the life of the animals at the zoo in the state is the Principal Chief conservator of Forests ( who is also the Chief wild life warden), Government of Karnataka, Aranya Bhavan, Bangalore 560003, Karnataka, India).
The reason for giving the address of the authorities who can put an end to the killings and save the animals is that the matter has assumed alarming proportions and direct protects and appeals can be effective without loss of time.

Animal lovers all over the world can save the lives of the remaining helpless animals which are under the shadow of death at this very moment of writing this appeal and clock is ticking away before we hear of one more killing with a senses of anguish and sadness.
