Please sign and share this petition in an effort to speak out to state legislators regarding laws to ban future animal ownership for anyone that has been accused of or involved in any type of animal abuse, cruelty or neglect. Without stricter punishments that includes an animal ban, the abuse will continue!

Three people were arrested and charged recently in suspicion of animal cruelty in Klamath Falls, Oregon. According to the press release in this case, when the officers with Klamath County Animal Control and the Klamath Falls Police Department were summoned to the house in question, they found that it “permeated with the smell of urine, rotting garbage and feces.” Trash and debris was strewn within the home and around the outer structure.

Within the debris, they discovered two adult dogs, six adult cats and two kittens. The authorities recommended felony animal neglect charges to the District Attorney’s Office, only to find out that these same two of the three people are repeat offenders, previously convicted of animal neglect. We are encouraging state legislators to seek more severe punishments for felony animal abuse offenders that includes a ban on any future animal ownership or care. Help us in our efforts by signing and sharing this petition everywhere in the name of furry critters and their well-being.

Oregon State Legislators – We urge you to implement and enforce stricter animal abuse, cruelty and neglect laws. Although charges are currently considered a felony with appropriate penalties, you need to also inflict a ban on future animal ownership, handling or care on any person found guilty of such charges. Protect the animals and keep them out of the hands of abusers. You can help avoid repeat offenders with the proper felony charges and punishments that includes the ban on future animal ownership. Be a voice for those without one and protect them.
