FedEx Ground: Your Drivers Deserve to be Treated Fairly!

Target: Dave Rebholz, President and CEO of FedEx Ground
Sponsored by: American Rights at Work
More than 15,000 FedEx Ground drivers don't have a voice at work, or the ability to stand up to the company. These men and women work long hours, often without benefits, are frequently harassed and even fired for supporting a union.

What's more, FedEx makes the drivers lease their own trucks (which cost around $40,000) so quitting can mean losing a major personal investment. Unions are often their only recourse.

FedEx Ground advertises efficiency and professionalism, but their anti-union posters and the distribution of anti-union videos show they're more about pushing their own agenda.

A new report shows that when anti-union persuasion fails, there's outright bullying. High-level management arrive on the scene to harass, isolate, retaliate against and even fire union supporters!

Resorting to nasty labor tactics to increase company profits is just not right.

Demand that FedEx Ground give benefits and respect to the people who make the company so successful!

deadline: 11-13-2008
goal: 40,000

Dear Mr. Rebholz,

As a consumer who cares about how a company treats its workers, I'm outraged by the recent reports of unionbusting at FedEx Ground.

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has issued complaints charging FedEx Ground with unlawful threats, interrogation, bribery, soliciting grievances, and harassing, isolating, and firing union supporters. A recent report confirms that pro-union employees are frequently harassed and even fired. I urge you to cease these activities immediately.

Furthermore, you should call FedEx Ground drivers what they really are - employees. The courts have repeatedly ruled the drivers are in fact employees. So why shirk your responsibilities and refuse to bargain with these hardworking men and women?

Please do what's right for the people who make your company successful.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

As a former fedex ground employee for two years. I would say that employee's should be given more incentives for wanting to stay on the Job. There are no injury insurance, no benefits, no unions, no full time hours, no options for anything except to get Injured. UPS HAS A UNION WHY DONT YOU?

Don't pocket all the profits for CEO's and higher ranking employees. Share the power and wealth and keep things fair for those employees who work the hardest.

Fed Ex needs to allow unions for all their employees not just ground. The system of personel representatives really doesn't work. The employees of Fed Ex Express I know from working there are simply just bullied by upper management. This is truley a real problem for moral of the employees. The higher management should investigate more and maybe it would become apparent. I don't believe that they care. They only care about company profits.

I'm not permitted to be a contracror at the hbg. Pa. terminal because I had a mini stroke. This is discrimination. Another contractor signed my contract for me. Not they are threatening him with loosing his routes because of mine. My route is to big to get it all delivered.
