Protect Oregon's Health Care

Oregon's health care is facing urgent threats that could undermine the progress we've made in achieving greater access to quality care for nearly all Oregonians. In both our state capital and our nation's capital, officials are discussing proposals that could have disastrous consequences for our families and neighbors.

In Washington, Congress is debating reforms to our national health care system. If they make hasty changes that don't maintain a stable system accessible by all Americans, we could see hundreds of thousands of Oregonians lose their health coverage.

In Salem, state lawmakers are considering proposals that could threaten the hospitals that are on the front lines of Oregon's health care — treating our most vulnerable neighbors, supporting more than 120,000 local jobs, and sponsoring programs in our schools and communities that keep us healthy and strong.

Right now, 95% of Oregonians have health coverage, and our hospitals are working both inside their walls and in our communities to support healthy families. We must be ready to speak up and fight back against any proposals that would roll back the gains we've made and risk the health of any Oregonian.
