America's forests allow us to experience nature up close and hands-on. In redwood forests we feel the wonder of gigantic redwoods hundreds or even thousands of years old.
Sadly, due to budget cuts, state parks are closing, including several California redwood parks. To let decision-makers know we want these lands to be a priority in governmental budgets, we must speak out about how important forests and parks are to us as American citizens.
There are so many fun activities to do in the forest -- hikes, bike rides, camping trips -- and to leave the environment of thousand-year-old redwood trees vulnerable to vandalism, poaching, marijuana cultivation and other illegal activities is nothing short of tragic.
Join Save the Redwoods in showing your support for America's forests by sharing a memory of time you've spent in nature.
