This petition is an urgent plea to you!
You, the concerned people across the nation and worldwide. You, the taxpayers of Texas, the media, the religious groups, ACLU, supporters of Amnesty International, and all other human rights organizations. And to you, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the Governor, and legislators of Texas.

There is an innocent young man about to be murdered by the State of Texas!
His name is Michael James Perry and he needs your help.

Please take a few moments to put yourself in his position.
Imagine his life as it was all those years ago. Imagine his family, his friends, his freedom…
And now imagine that in an instant everything is taken away from him. He is condemned to a life spent inside a room the size of a small bathroom, waiting to be killed.
Imagine a life at the mercy of people who no longer care! People who won't listen to the facts! People who see him as just another number taking up space! Imagine his time running out and he has nowhere to turn! Imagine the truth being out there, just out of reach because no one will help him bring it to light!

Now imagine he is you! Imagine he is your brother, your father, your son, your friend! What would you do to save their lives, to save your own?

Michael Perry isn't just another face in the crowd, a number, a body waiting to be disposed of. He is a human being wrongly convicted for a crime he did not commit.
He is us, he is you, he is me, he is our family, our next door neighbor, he is our friend!
If the State of Texas can murder him as an innocent man, they can do it to anyone of us!

It's time to stop Texas from killing!

We urge those in power to overturn his wrongful conviction and set him free, or at the very least, provide him the fair trial to which he is constitutionally entitled.
