Vulgar language, sexual promiscuity, and even borderline
pornography are being shown on TV today, desensitizing our kids. Is it any wonder why morality has declined today? Where have common decency standards gone? I urge the Senate to require that the FCC restore common decency laws and enforce them.

After repeatively turning the channel or turning the radio off when aired the kid is going to start picking up on that and start paying more attention to the commercial the next time it is on. They can't be paying the networks that much money to air the commercial to make up for the airtime loss when it forces people to switch to another channel!! I personally hope this commercial is pulled. But feel there is other unsuitable material shown in other shows but you can control that more so than a randon commercial that comes on!! |

Restore Decency to Television!
Dear Senator Lott,
I am very concerned about the types of commercials and tv shows that are being shown today. Shows like Howard Stern, as well as some of the reality game shows. Many kids are being exposed to violent rap and heavy metal lyrics on MTV and other music stations. Many commercials are getting more and more indecent, showing people halfway nude, etc, during shows KIDS WATCH!!! Is it any wonder why kids today are violent, disrespect their parents, and are promiscuous? I urge you and your fellow Senators to require the FCC to set and enforce decency standards for TV. Only then can we protect kids.
