607 10:31 am PST, Dec 3 Female Ohio United States Yes and it is unethical that the State Of Ohio does not require for any infertilty to be covered by medical. There is something medically wrong and it is already depressing, stressful on a daily basis and puts a strain on your marriage and then to top if all off the financial burden. How can the legislative pick and choose what states can cover infertility? It is like playing GOD. How is that fair to women? Becuase depending on what state you live in determines what is covered by your medical coverage. Because I live in Ohio I may not ever become blessed with a baby because I can't afford IVF. We as Human Beings should not be denied the most blessed thing if life to reproduce a child. We were put on this earth and all dream of getting married and having children. So how can this be if the State of Ohio and many others does not cover infertility. It is so not right. I cry all the time and just think of how this could be in the world today of rights and opportunities that i have no right by my insurance company to try to have a baby. I have to scape together money to cover my meds, IUI's, ultra soulds and other testing and shots. I have to pick and choose if I can pay a bill or have a baby. Some times I just want to curl up and die. What is more important in life than having a baby. I am going to help get this law changed in all states for me and for future mothers. How can we be denied this right? How can my insurance make me feel that there is something wrong with me and they do not cover it. That is like saying that I have cancer and they won't help cure me. How can they play GOD? I heard that 1 in every 6 women have trouble conceiving. How about if they don't have any money to get anything done about their infertility? How is this justified? I just don't understand. Please help me and all the other woman that feel scorned and punished for having infertility problems.
606 1:51 pm PST, Nov 26 Female Virginia United States Yes, absolutely. Found out my insurance carriers at work (3 of them!) do not cover any services. Across the river in Maryland, it's a statutory requirement. I think this is just downright awful in this era of equality. Isn't male ED covered? Come on...
605 12:33 pm PST, Nov 24 Female California United States yes I do. I have been dealing with it for more than 10 years now...
604 3:30 pm PST, Nov 23 Female Michigan United States yes

597 8:13 pm PDT, Oct 28 Female West Virginia United States Have been trying to conceive for five years. We had IUI first then moved on to an unsuccessful very expensive IVF cycle. We added a mortgage to our home just to pay for doctor's bills.

585 7:04 am PDT, Sep 19 Male Wisconsin United States No
584 6:46 am PDT, Sep 19 Female Wisconsin United States no, but i was told by two different dr's that i pretty much did, and have a very small chance of ever having children. i do now have a daughter but it wasn't easy.
583 6:46 am PDT, Sep 19 Female Wisconsin United States I do not suffer myself, but I have several friends and family members that do...
582 6:43 am PDT, Sep 19 Female Wisconsin United States I do not suffer from infertility but my sister and my cousin both have problems. I wish they could enjoy having children of there own.
581 8:37 pm PDT, Sep 18 Female Wisconsin United States I have PCOS Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and have been trying to have a child for over 10 years now. My husband and I like many others would love to have even just one child but, the cost of IVF and all that is entailed in it is so expensive. I too get frustrated when I see or hear about other women getting pregnant easily and really don't have any idea of how blessed they are. I do think that this is a very important issue and hope something can be done about it sooner than later. I would love to be blessed with a child however, my age is also a factor. So, Please seriously consider making IVF covered by all health insurance companies in all states. I know that it would be a wonderful thing for me and many other women desperately trying to have a child. Sincerely, Lisa
580 8:14 pm PDT, Sep 18 Female Texas United States no
579 2:59 pm PDT, Sep 10 Female Illinois United States Yes; IVF w/ICSI is our only option.
578 7:38 pm PDT, Aug 29 Female New Hampshire United States yes,it's a medical condition
577 2:11 am PDT, Aug 17 Female California United States Yes
576 10:32 am PDT, Aug 16 Male Kentucky United States Yes, as do 10% of all Americans. It's absurd for this to not be a covered condition.
575 6:59 pm PDT, Aug 9 Female South Carolina United States Yes antibodies attached to my husbands sperm
574 4:23 pm PDT, Aug 5 Female New York United States yes, my husband has very low sperm count
573 5:38 pm PDT, Jul 20 Female South Carolina United States yes
572 12:32 pm PDT, Jul 18 Female Pennsylvania United States I was told I had unexplained infertility. I am 37 and we have been trying for over a year with medicines and 3 IUI's out of our pockets( can't afford to, but we want a child desperately) and cannot get pregnant. We have government insurance and pay a pretty penny for it and I think it should cover infertility treatments it's not right. My husband and I can't afford Invetro.
571 6:28 pm PDT, Jul 14 Female Texas United States i'm 23 years old and had no chose but to have my fallopian tubes removed, me and my husband want a baby so bad but we are realizing that dream will never come true we just can't afford it without losing everything we have worked so hard for.
570 6:09 am PDT, Jul 10 Female North Carolina United States yes
569 2:09 pm PDT, Jul 9 Female Tennessee United States Yes, I do and I don't think it's fare for me to pay an expensive health insurance bill every month but rarley visit the doctor. But just when I want to put my high priced health insurace to some use, like getting(IVF), I was told that my insurance does'nt cover infertility treatments. I just feel like if I pay my high priced health insurance company money every month then I should be able to use it for any procedures that I want done to my body. It seems like the more you pay the less they do.
568 7:39 am PDT, Jul 7 Female New York United States yes
567 3:49 am PDT, Jul 7 Female California United States yes
566 12:52 am PDT, Jul 3 Female California United States yes
565 9:33 am PDT, Jun 30 Female Kansas United States yes. I have struggled with infertility for years and it is a heartbreaking position to be in, but to have the insurance companies refuse to pay for treatment adds insult to injury. The ADA defines infertility as a disease of the reproductive system. How can insurance companies not cover treatment?
564 9:08 am PDT, Jun 30 Female Missouri United States NO
563 1:47 pm PDT, Jun 24 Female Kentucky United States I am currently TTC #2 for over a year with no luck. Recently diagnosed with endometriosis.
562 6:46 am PDT, Jun 24 Female Missouri United States NO
561 6:05 pm PDT, Jun 23 Female New Jersey United States yes
560 4:53 pm PDT, Jun 23 Female Florida United States Yes
559 1:28 pm PDT, Jun 23 Female North Carolina United States no
558 9:02 am PDT, Jun 23 Female North Carolina United States yes
557 7:27 am PDT, Jun 23 Female North Carolina United States no
556 6:01 am PDT, Jun 23 Male North Carolina United States No
555 6:00 am PDT, Jun 23 Female North Carolina United States No
554 4:44 am PDT, Jun 23 Female North Carolina United States No, but I have friends that are struggling with it. This would help them have a family of their own. I really don't see why some infertility procedures would be covered and others not. Seems it would be most economical for the insurance to pay once for a procedure that most likely would work then to continue to pay for a 'covered' procedure that doesn't work.
553 7:49 pm PDT, Jun 22 Female North Carolina United States Yes, for 4 years. My RE says that IVF with ICSI is our best hope in conceiving a child of our own. But we have been trying everything else that we can think of before heading down that path because our insurance will not aid in that process at all. We are wasting our time, money, and the insurance on procedures that aren't getting us anywhere, when if our insurance would cover IVF, we could have been parents already back in 2005 when we were first told that IVF was what we needed.
552 8:21 am PDT, Jun 20 Female North Carolina United States yes
551 12:26 pm PDT, Jun 15 Female Vermont United States Yes, my husband and I cannot conceive a child and we cannot afford IVF. We cannot afford the treatments, which we have been told are in the thousands of dollars. We are both educators and would provide a loving home for our child.

Make IVF covered by all health insurance Companies in all States

There are people out there popping kids out left and right that never wanted them in the first place. People... or should I say ANIMALS that are getting pregnant, having abortions or leaving them to die.

Then there are people out there, like me, who struggle just to have a family of there own. There are others out there like myself that have a disease called Endometriosis or any other infertility problem that struggle to have children of there own.

I feel that insurance companies should help in paying for IVF and other treatments to those who are struggling. IVF is so exspensive there for there are couples who wont do it. Myself, along with others, are not financally set or are but could never afford something like this with out help. I refuse to get a hystorectomy and will forever  keep trying for a child. My treatments are costing the health insurance company. If they would just  pay for the IVF then it wouldn't be costing them so much for everything else the doctores are putting me through to help me become preganent in other ways. It has been over 7 years now and I have had 9 surgeries along with many other treatments and medication.

THINK ABOUT IT!
