Stop Anti-LGBTQ Violence in Russia – Urge President Trump to Protect Human Rights at Home and Abroad

According to numerous media outlets and human rights organizations across the globe, authorities in the Russian republic of Chechnya have been rounding up dozens of men on the suspicion of being gay. They have been humiliated, tortured, placed in detention and killed.

With Chechen authorities refusing to stop the arrests – even going as far as denying that LGBTQ people exist – and the Russian government refusing to intervene, the United States must lead the way in demanding global human rights for all.

Send an email to President Trump and urge his administration to take immediate action by calling on Russia to stop the murder and detention of LGBTQ people in Russia. And let’s make it clear that those responsible for this atrocity must be brought to justice.

To President Trump:

As a concerned American and fierce advocate for human rights both here and abroad, I am urging your administration to take immediate action by calling on Russia to stop the lawless murder and detention of LGBTQ people in Russia.

According to numerous media outlets and human rights organizations across the globe, authorities in the Russian republic of Chechnya have been rounding up dozens of men on the suspicion of being gay. They have been humiliated, tortured, placed in detention and killed.

With Chechen authorities refusing to stop the arrests and the Russian government refusing to intervene, your administration must lead the way in demanding global human rights for all. This is a crucial moment to show that our country will work aggressively to advance equality.

Failing to act in the face of injustice allows this type of violence and discrimination to continue. So I’m asking you to show leadership today and honor the values our country was founded on: freedom, liberty, and equality.

Please stand up for human rights and call on Russia to to stop the murder and detention of LGBTQ people in Chechnya. And I urge you to make it clear that those responsible for this atrocity must be brought to justice.
