Recently, Staff at Moreheadstate University received an Email stating that 64 positions would be eliminated and that many professors that have dedicated their life to teaching, have been told their position is no longer. BUT, sitting in a large mansion on campus we have a president that MAKES MORE THAN the KENTUCKY GOVERNOR, and gets a $750,000 dollar bonus, free housing, utilities and a company car, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? Other than a GREEDY man that could care less about his students and faculty members only the amount of ZEROS on his Paycheck. Recently, State Eduction funds have been cut across the bluegrass state where all State run universities have to deal with the financial burden that has been placed upon them. Major, Universities such as Kentucky and U of L presidents have taken it upon themselves to better their universities by taking a pay cut and NOT ACCEPTING THIER YEARLY Bonuses, but instead giving back to the university to assure the quality of equation their students received was superior and competitive with universities across the country.
While, Dr. Wayne D. Andrews of Moreheadstate University has continued to have a salary increase, while his facility and staff suffer through pay check to pay check with salaries that have decrease yearly. Something needs to be DONE, as students have begun to suffer as our quality professors are being fired and positions literally taken from under their feet, even thou many have been with the university for decades!
It's Really sad when you LOVE this university not because of what we have but QUALITY PROFESSORS that make this university home to 10,654 Students. As a Sophomore Biology Major, I have witnessed the decline of our University as our President has taken astronomical amounts of money away from what could help save our quality professors. Professors that truly care about the success of their students and want to see them succeed in their careers. THEY WORK THEIR ASSES OFF to give their students the best EDUCATION possible but in return they have received the short end of the stick. Where they keep having their salaries cut to unseen portions that have made it hard for some to even put food on the table for their children! WHILE our greedy president sits in his office having his staff do his work for him and the only time he even lifts a finger is for the camera and media outlets that hide the wicked truth that Dr. Wayne D. Andrews does not want the public or his students to know which is, he is taking so much money from under our feet that could be used for bettering the university and giving us the students the quality equation we deserve, NOT using the money to fund Dr.Andrews vacation home and paying him to just look pretty on camera and "seem like he is actually trying to better the University. When in Reality he has NO contact with his employees as he refuses to talk to staff other than through his hierarchy of deans and secretaries.
We as University and as a State need to combine forces to RAISE AWARENESS about what is really going on behind closed doors in HOPE we CAN REACH THE MASSES OF PEOPLE, AND MEDIA to alert them to the turmoil going down currently at MoreheadState University, SO the KENTUCKY STATE GOVERMENT WILL HAVE TO REVIEW Dr.Andrews, and HOPEFULLY make a difference and allow our university to shine bright as our valued professors can continue to teach the future generation.
