Brookhaven Animal shelter reform needed-Help stop the euthanizing of animals & mislabled dogs!!

The Brookhaven Animal shelter is in DESPERATE need of reform.  Almost every day they are killing innocent animals.  They are advertising as an "adoption center," however, a majority of the animals that enter do NOT make it out alive.  All animals that are labeled by the shelter, whether true or not, are euthanized in 10 days and are not given any chance of ever leaving the shelter alive.  The pound will justify destroying any animal because they have such strong control issues and do not want to be proven wrong.  They are lying to the public and wasting taxpayer's money to euthanize animals daily.  There have been, and continue to be, too many tragic stories of innocent lives killed, with no regards to life.  The shelter has even refused to allow rescue groups that are willing to work with animals that may need some additional care, and have instead chosen to euthanize.  We NEED better people to run the shelter, that will have an interest in all of the animals that enter, along with knowledge of animal behavior, which appears that they are lacking.  We need people who will advocate for animals to not be destroyed and are pro-life.  The Brookhaven Animal shelter needs new people to run this shelter.    We must stop the shelter from destroying more animals, from the ignorance of the two key men that lead the shelter; their alliance in misguided judgements, their closed-minded evaluations of animals, with no regards to outside considerations of different views, other than their fears of the shelter being sued,  their lies to the public, and their strong control issues that they must be right, at the expense of innocent animals.  They leave no room, upon their judgements for outside appeals for animal's lives.  All decisions THEY make are final and many times are incorrect.

Looking for people to sign this petition against the Brookhaven Animal shelter and their authority, and hold them accountable for their misguided and destructive actions.  The Brookhaven Animal shelter has been getting away with murder far too long.

"If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain,..."  Emily Dickinson

In light of the most recent issue with a golden retriever that was labeled as "food aggressive."  The golden had a few rescue groups that were trying to get the dog out of the shelter and were willing to work with her.  What started as a "small nip" from a dog turned into a "dog that was out to kill."  The shelter claimed the dog was "food aggressive," which is common among many breeds.  However, when rescue groups went in to help this dog, the pound would not release the animal, but did assure everyone that the dog would not be euthanized until it was evaluated with a particular person.  Everyone believed the dog would be safe.  But instead, the shelter decided to euthanize the dog, WHILE assuring to rescue people that the dog was safe.  It was quickly evaluated negatively and destroyed quicker than anyone could check the validity of the shelter's label and evaluation of the golden.  While this occured, other rescues were told the dog would be evaluated by a different shelter member.  However, the dog had ALREADY been euthanized.  Now that the evidence of the dog was gone, the shelter justified their decision.  However, three outside members, in particular, had seen this dog, and considered this evaluation incorrect, while one member had put their hand in the dog's cell and petted the dog.  The Brookhaven Animal shelter disregarded a rescue group that had a sanctuary that was making an appeal for this dog.  The Brookhaven Animal shelter disregarded a veterinarian that wanted to evaluate the dog medically for any other possible causes.  The Brookhaven Animal shelter and their main authorities took the matter in their own hands, destroyed the evidence, and justified their own actions.  The Brookhaven Animal shelter, if not stopped, in a case like this as there have been many before, will continue for the future and are never held accountable for their poor decisions and sadly, unwarranted euthanizing.  The Brookhaven Animal shelter needs a change in authority figures, along with some pro-life activists to advocate for the dogs that unfairly end up in this shelter, only to be caught further in a system of injustice.

The golden, is only one case of many, within an isolated instituition on a deserted area road in the town, next to a dump in the town of Brookhaven, where the truth of the injustices are well hidden by the authorities in charge of the Brookhaven Animal shelter.

We need people to advocate and sign this petition to help save the lives of the future animals that will unfortunately arrive in the shelter, along with a change of authority figures.  The shelter needs new people in charge that are pro-life, that care for the well being of animals, along with an open environment that is willing to hear outside  views and cooperate with animal advocates.  The Brookhaven Animal shelter claims they are an "adoption center."  The destructive actions still loom over the shelter, although it is hidden to the public, and needs drastic reforms, as well as a change in those who are running the shelter.  New authority figures need to be entered into this shelter so that it can attain the reform that is so much needed.
