Fighting terror with terror is a lose-lose strategy. More innocent civilians have now been killed in Afghanistan than in the World Trade Center on 9/11. Will killing more innocents deter terrorists? I doubt it. |

i as i am sure many others out there have stood on the sidelines for far too long. it seemed that there was nothing for one to do, how could one make a difference? well as we saw this past election, less than 1% can make a huge difference. it is time for us all to stand up and try. this isn't about afghanistan, although there is a terrible tragedy going on there; it is about humanity. we need to send a message to our leaders that they work for us, not the other way around. us foreign policy has got to be revisited and revised to meet our world needs today. i only hope that more see the light and decide not to sit on their hands again this time. |

The ruling elite has thier own agenda, violence by anyone should not be tolerated, too long have innocent people been pawns in thier twisted games, NO more killing of our brethren. |
.>U.S.A.: Stop Killing Starving Civilians in Afghanistan
Petition Target: President George Bush
We implore you to effectively address the human rights concerns that US actions have created for the people of Afghanistan. The people of Afghanistan are starving and in grave danger. We must stop massive killing through starvation, and attempt to redress our own damages About eight million people are at risk of imminent starvation, and no one can get in now to count how many have already died because of our actions. The UN, Medicins Sans Frontiers, the many respected agencies reporting on the situation have universally deplored the food drops as the proverbial “drop in a bucket“, as likely to do harm as any good.
These people are refugees in their own country, crushed by many years of war and brutality, a fact our own past political actions have played no small part in. The sanctions cutting off basic life support from both international aid agencies and Pakistan must be stopped immediately. Far more extensive efforts to prevent what can only be described as a possible genocide must be made. Truck convoys with food have to be sent, and additional aid provided if further protection or screening of refugees is deemed necessary. In recognizing our responsibility not to harm the victims of our own enemies, we have the means to assure that both the emergency aid provided before our arrival is continued, and to demonstrate that we can be generous; it’s imperative that we do so.
There is no moral action possible without fully recognizing and addressing these people’s human rights and desperate need. These brave people have suffered enough at the hands of the Taliban; they need food and a chance for survival, not another onslaught. This massive scale devastation against the innocent is a shameful act for the American people, and a shameful legacy for those who died in New York.
In Solidarity,
The Undersigned.
