Children Need a Strong Climate Bill

Target: U.S. Senate
Sponsored by: Care2
The Senate will soon begin debating their version of the comprehensive climate change bill passed by the House earlier this year. This bill is critical for the future of our planet -- and for the well-being of our children and grandchildren.

A just-released report from the United Nations Environment Program said that without prompt action, sea levels could rise as much as 2 meters by 2100. Put another way, our current inaction will cause irreparable damage to the planet in the lives of today's children.

Indeed, children even experience the effects of climate change more dramatically than adults, since their physical and psychological health is not as fully developed. Change in living conditions, loss of food sources and more prevalent disease will all affect children more dramatically.

Speak out for the future of our children! Urge your senators to pass a stronger version of the climate bill and do whatever we can now to ensure a safer planet for our children and grandchildren.

Dear Senator,

I am writing in support of strengthening the provisions of the American Clean Energy and Security Act passed by the House. This bill is a critical first step in doing our part to reduce the effects of climate change and preserve the planet for our children.

As someone who cares about the future we leave for our children, I ask you to strengthen the American Clean Energy and Security Act and do whatever we can now to ensure a safer planet for our children and grandchildren.

Sincerely,
[Your name here]

once again the evolved human who has in the last 50 or more created and achieved so much in terms of advancement technology has also caused a lot of problems as well as no one considered the ramifications in all the excitement but now its time to make way for a more energy efficient world and our children unfortunately will burden the responcibility of this vast task...i have read many new things on the MIT site inventions that can give us what we want example sheet rock designed to control temperature so you dont need electricity and airconditioners and so on the list goes on their a tons of sectors but the problem with the US is they always use excuses like we can start this in 2020 or 2030 sorry not good enough not fast enough we have the knowledge and people need jobs now more than ever and we can give our childrens and their children a jump start on reversing a very troubled and disintigrating earth....if billions of yrs ago the first man endured first volcanic eruptions and then the ice age without modern technology one can only imagine the devastation that could occur but the ignorance, greed gets in the way one of humans greatest faults...god forbid they did things that would mean less money, and did it country to country..again its all about greed and our children will unfortunately suffer the brunt of it! they already are

There is no better work you can do in government than to strengthen the Clean Energy and Security Act passed by the House. It will help to save our coastlines; it will save our children.
