Help Override the President's Veto of the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Target: Congressmembers and Representatives of the Republican Party
Sponsored by: Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
Americans overwhelmingly support the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The CHIP legislation would give 10 million low-income children health care coverage.

But by vetoing CHIP, President Bush is denying these kids the health care they need and deserve!

Efforts to override the President's veto are gaining momentum as more Republicans reconsider their vote on CHIP. We need to keep up the pressure and fight this veto!

Stand firm for the health of America's future! Demand Republicans join the rest of Congress in an Emergency Override of the President's veto.

Dear [Decision maker],

Congress sent the President the Children's Health Insurance Program, which would give 10 million low-income children health care coverage.

The country overwhelmingly supports this plan, but President Bush has vetoed it and is denying these kids the health care they need and deserve.

I demand you support an Emergency Override of the President's veto of the Childrens Health Insurance Program.

IN MY OPINION, THE MAIN REASON IS OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR HOPE, GIVING UP ON THEM IS GIVING UP ON OUR HOPE AND OUR FUTURE... THERE IS NO GREATER NEED FOR EXPENSE THAN THAT TO TAKE CARE OF OUR CHILDREN WHO ARE OUR FUTURE... IF WE DONT TAKE CARE OF THEM TODAY, HOW ARE THEY GONNA TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES TOMORROW. LET THEM KNOW TODAY, THAT TOMORROW WILL BE BETTER.

The president sees himself as a leader of a wealthy nation..spending billions on an unjustifiable war and not wanting to provide for the children, our future !!! What a shame.. someone better get their priorities straight .. and it won't be this administration, dellusional as they are !!! Keep the money where it belongs.. IN the country for ITS citizens !!!!!

If we hard working employees that pay into our insurance cant get coverage then let the up coming population have care and not be killed off by someone who feels they can dictate who gets coverage when we the american people pay for his coverage and his kids rehab

The well-being of our children should never be up for debate.... this vastly wealthy country must secure health care for all of its children, always.

This is a no brainer! Kids need health insurance. I guess some people forget that children are our future. Invest now in for our future. Provide our children with health care.

JESUS loves children. How about you! They deserve a chance. WE give aid for health care to other countries for them, WHY NOT OUR OWN??????

Sirs, I may not be eloquent in my words, but I will state that this veto is separating our people even more than before. If our children are not given the necessary care when their parents can not pay for it, then we are robbing our country of the future. Children, whether rich or poor families, are the future for this country. Their health and care is of utmost importance and if not cared for, they may even lose their lives. This is not charity. We pay taxes and should have the right to have our children taken care of. If our President is a believer of God, he must remember that even Jesus protected and put them in a special category. Please do not allow any of our children to suffer when even He put them as being special and in need of our care and protection. Do not abandon them when they need us the most. LTC

Can we be absolutely sure that all of our Chidren in this Country who need Healthcare coverage, will recieve the level of quality Healthcare that they require, or do we just leave it to chance that some other Agency will protect them, and "pick up the Slack" with providing these Kids with quality Healthcare........
