Pledge to Be a Voice for Animals

In the time it takes you to read this, at least one animal in the United States will be abused or beaten. It happens every 60 seconds — and it adds up to a shocking number of victims every year. Those innocent, helpless animals can't call for help, but you can.

From neglect to hoarding, dog fighting to puppy mills, animal abuse can happen at any time in any community. And because the ASPCA can't be everywhere at all times, we need you to be our eyes and ears on the ground. If you see an animal in danger, or suspect any form of cruelty in your area, speak up. Be their voice.

You can start by taking our pledge today.

I pledge to join the ASPCA in its steadfast commitment to end animal cruelty. I will:

- Learn the signs of cruelty and neglect
- Notify my local animal welfare organization, animal control agency, or police precinct when I see signs of cruelty or neglect
- Set a good example for others and talk to kids about how to treat animals with respect
- Fight for the passage of anti-cruelty laws
- Support my local shelter or animal rescue organization.
