Protect Animals During Times of Disaster!

With hurricane season on us again we need to make sure that our nations animals
will be protected before and after a disaster.
Tragically for our pets, the federal government will not reimburse states for the cost of rescuing and sheltering animals, or for the cost of reuniting them with loving families.
But the Senate is considering a new law called the PETS bill, that acknowledges the federal governments responsibility to provide funding to help states cover the additional costs of animal shelter, care and reunion with their families.
Please tell your U.S. Senators to support the PETS bill and help make sure pets are cared for before, and after, a disaster!

Our animals are our children for those of us who do not have children.

Dogs and other animals are needed to keep us company so we won't be as lonely,because being lonely is a terrible thing,I know because I am lonely.Also dogs and other animals are enjoyable to look at and to be around,therefore protect animals during times of disaster,such as "HURRICANE KATRINA" that happened two years ago.Thank You.God bless.

Animals should be given the same assistance as 'humans'...they feel pain and stress the same as we do.

Animals when separated from their owners are very confused and lost. Within time, they will be united as the disaster calms down. Appropiations and plans must be put into affect for preparation if a disaster occurs. They are family members!

Pets are FAMILY!! They always have been...sometimes they are people's only family. It is outright cruel to not provide whatever is needed for the animals in a time of crisis. There are people who will never recover from the loss of their pet...who will re-live every decision they made and blame themselves forever for letting the government talk them into leaving their pets! Something must be done to take care of the animals too!!!!!!This is America. We need to do the right thing!!!

Please make it easy for people to take their pets with them during a disaster. Or find some way to make sure the animals are taken care of and then reunited with their families later on. People suffer a disaster and it is crushing. To lose a family member to death, or to have them missing or to worry as they are left at the disaster is really unfortunate and sad for the people as well as their pets.
